recently i talked to someone i care about who is in the jw group and stated i feel that believing billions of people are going to die when armegedon comes and only a jws will survive would be unloving of a god.
the response is one that i've also noticed others have experienced.
in short the answer is something like the following: "we don't believe that, only jehovah can read hearts.
Being in association with 'God's organization' was often compared to being in the Ark of Salvation. The example being that of Noah & his family being the ONLY ones to survive, while all of those outside of the Ark were destroyed. Sounds to me like they are saying if you're not in the modern day 'Ark' then you will die.
The escape clause of Jehovah reading hearts, appeases those that find the prospect of their God wiping out billions of men, women, and children unjust. Leslie

i love my jw mom.
we have had issues and struggles, but she loves me, i love her and we tolerate a lot of things we differ about because of that love.. you may remember my dad died a little over 11 years ago, and my mom took to a lot of drinking and she was very depressed.
i thought she would just die of despair or drink herself dead or drive drunk.. she has calmed down on the depression and i i know she still drinks too much, but i think it is a little more ocntained.

howdy ya'll....as of earlier this year a judge approved a custody order that allows me to use my better judgment in regards to time sharing with the x.... however, because my children choose sports and academic "endeavors" (as the x refers to it);he chooses to treat them like the enemy and shuns both my 8yr &16 yr old.... while i dont mind that i have them 365 days a yr. its really affecting my lil one.
we have attempted to call ,email and text .
however he is totally refusing communication.
I believe you've been given some sound advice. Leave the KH & elders out of it. I can see your wanting to expose your ex as the 'dead beat' father he is so that elders in the hall will realize just what he really is. There are parents that would love to be in your position of not having the believing mate in a position to indoctrinate your children. I feel bad for your children at having been rejected by their father. At least they know it is not you that is keeping them from having a relationship with their Dad. That sounded very familiar. The damage that has been done in the name of God & religion is terrible. It is a rotten thing to tear families apart in this way. It is hard on everyone, the victim who is shunned, and the family who does the shunning out of fear and having been brainwashed into thinking this is the right thing to do. After having been in a high-control environment I can see why so many (myself included) will never become a part of any religious group again. Their reasons for shunning were eerily familiar to the JW. mindset of it being out of love. If that's love, they can keep it! -Leslie-

it started last tuesday night.
my wife brings the kids home at 10:00 pm after the meeting....then dinner....then ice cream.
(((OUTSMART))) My heart goes out to you. I think sending your lawyer a copy of that brochure was a very good idea. I cannot begin to imagine the pain of having your little ones parroting unkind words to you. I agree with what some others have said about depression. No one likes to take medication but sometimes it is necessary. You need your physical strength and to be able to have your mind clear. It sounds like you are going to have a battle before you and you need to be prepared on all levels.
Your wife is being very disrespectful and her cold comment to you was not called for. No one wants to see their marriage fall apart but unfortunately this often is what happens. Only you can save your children from a miserable future in the organization. They need you. Draw strength knowing that you have friends here who really care and will give you moral support. Leslie
